Some Celtic fans have been discussing the latest post about Davie Provan that caught their attention on social media recently.
A Hoops-related page recently posted about Provan. The post called the former Celtic man a ‘natural born winger’ and had high praise for him.
On reading this post, many Celtic fans were left to talk about Provan. They had different things to say about him, with many fans having praise for him. Some others highlighted his connections to fierce rivals Rangers.
Another one who wasn’t a Celtic supporter but grew into it!! Like some others now though scared to show his affection!!

Agreed himself and Pat Nevin the last of the old fashioned Scottish wingers when previously we had them in abundance

Would you regard Provan to be a Celtic legend?
Absolutely!
He wasn't a legend
I was at Scotland V Israel 1981 WCQ when he scored in a 3-1 win Fantastic player who actually was a Rangers fan growing up

Provan also wore blue and white hoops at Parkhead in Scottish cup

Provan had joined Celtic from Kilmarnock in September 1978 and had stayed at Parkhead until February 1987, when he retired from the game.
According to CelticWiki, during his time at the club, Provan scored 42 goals for the Hoops and made 287 appearances in all competitions.
What do we think?
Considering how long the former Celtic star was at Parkhead, it could be argued he remains in the hearts of Celtic fans. While they can have a difference of opinion, they have to respect the contributions that Provan gave to the club over his nine-year stay.
