Some Celtic fans have been discussing the latest post involving their former player Stephen Pearson recently.
A Hoops-related page recently posted about Pearson on Twitter. The post had an image of him scoring a goal against Inverness back in 2006. He was labelled as ‘decent’ by the Twitter user, who also added he was someone who couldn’t quite break into the first team.
This post left many Celtic fans talking. Some felt that Pearson was very good off the ball even though he wasn’t exactly exceptional on it. One fan even said that Pearson was never Celtic quality.
Imo. Never Celtic class in a million years.

Barcelona away. I have never been happier to see someone run energetically down blind alley’s, relieving pressure on us. Fantastic engine. Relentless energy, poor quality.

He was better without the ball than with it. Good athlete.

Was Stephen Pearson Celtic quality?
Never!
I think he was
He was a good player. Just great players ahead of him at Celtic. Forged a great career down south as well, scored the most valuable goal money wise that is in world football …. any ideas?

Bit of a super sub type. Played for a trillion clubs after Celtic

He would have been a great player and would have made so much more of an impact if he could have stayed fit.

Pearson was at Celtic from January 2004 till the summer of 2006. He joined the Hoops from Motherwell and later left for Derby County.
During his stint at Parkhead, Pearson made 45 appearances in all competitions and scored four goals.
What do we think?
The number of times Pearson played in over two years shows that he may have struggled to get into the first team too regularly. That he went on to play for many more clubs like Stoke City, Bristol City, Derby County, Kerala Blasters and ATK could suggest that he wasn’t a consistent performer. Some of the comments of the Celtic fans certainly add weight to that theory.
