Some Celtic fans have been left talking about the time when they had faced Manchester United back in 1966.

The game between the Hoops and United was played in 1966 and it was a friendly involving the two sides. Celtic had emerged victorious by a convincing 4-1 margin.

Celtic were 3-0 up at half-time in that game. Bobby Lennox had scored first, while Bobby Murdoch had scored the second goal. The third goal was scored by Joe McBride and the fourth was an own-goal by United defender Bill Foulkes. David Sadler had scored United’s only goal of the game.

They are certainly are happy memories for Celtic fans. Considering they had won the European Cup in 1967, the game against United can well be associated with how the same team went onto win the European Cup at the end of the season. It showed how great the team was.
