Some Celtic fans have been talking about the possibility of the club signing Charlie Austin in the near future.
Recently, Austin had talked about a potential move to Parkhead. In an interview with Open Goal’s Keeping the Ball on the Ground podcast (via the Scottish Sun), Austin revealed that he wanted to join Celtic around the time when Gary Hooper was about the leave the club.
Austin said: “I was on the phone to my agent saying, ‘look is this going to happen?’
“It’s something that I would have done. At the time, it was just me, my missus and my one child and I said, ‘let’s go’. But nothing ever materialised after that and nothing has since.”
Hoops-related page EverythingCeltic recently relayed Austin’s interview, and many Celtic fans have been discussing the striker. Some said that they would take the striker at Parkhead, while others disagreed.
No thanks

Would you like Charlie Austin at Celtic?
I'd love that
He's past his prime
Better than Bayo and klimala by the looks of it , I’d have him at Celtic

One of the laziest players I’ve ever seen at Southampton in about 25 years of watching them. About 2 stone overweight for a professional footballer and a horrible attitude. No thanks.

Would definitely take if Bayo or Kilmala left. If eddy left I’d sign him and someone else.

Another Celtic-related account ClydeBankCeltic made it clear that they would like to see Austin at Parkhead, which also got a reaction out of Bhoys fans.
Proven goal scorer at all levels and a good guy in the dressing room. I’d definitely take him ,not same type of player as eddy or griffiths but definitely worth as another option ahead of Bayo. Come to paradise Charlie and become a legend for 10 IAR ??

This season, Austin has scored nine goals in all competitions for West Bromwich Albion. In the Championship, he has racked up eight goals in 26 games for West Brom (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
As per FBRef, Austin has often had a healthy goals and assists ratio per 90 minutes throughout his career, highlighting his consistency in providing goals for his team.
So if he ever wants a Celtic move, it seems as though there are some fans who would welcome Austin’s arrival.
