Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest poll that BT Sport recently put out on Twitter.
BT Sport asked fans on Twitter about who the greatest club football team in the last century was. One of their options was the Barcelona team from the 2008-09 season and the other one was Celtic’s team from the 1966-67 campaign.
A Hoops-related page called CelticUnderground relayed this post and mocked it, saying that the Hoops ‘clearly won’ the poll but it is a ‘disgrace’ that the results didn’t show it. On seeing this, many Celtic fans responded.
I have evidence in my possession that will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt we’ve won this and that BT will rue the day they got involved with the decision
But I’m not revealing it

I got a call just before voting telling me not to bother.

I’m calling for @chris_sutton73 to get sacked, it’s obviously been a fix from the start.

What do we think?
While the post was meant to mock the SPFL vote for the Premiership season, the Celtic team of the 1966-67 season saw the Hoops become the first British team in history to win the European Cup. While that is certainly an achievement, Barcelona’s 2008-09 season had seen them win the La Liga, Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League.
This shows that both teams achieved special things and instead of making comparisons, Celtic fans should remember the great team of 1966-67 fondly for etching the club’s name in the annals of time.
