Some Celtic fans have slammed Lou Macari after a post about the club’s former manager caught their attention.
Celtic fan ‘St.Anthony’ recently posted an image of Macari. The image was from his time as the Hoops’ manager, with him standing on the touchline. The post carried a caption for Macari, saying that there were ‘high hopes’ for him but his ‘heart was never in it’, suggesting his tenure at Parkhead was particularly disappointing.
On seeing this post, many Celtic fans were left to slam Macari. They made their negative opinions about Macari very clear.
Should never have got the job

Which Celtic manager was worse?
Lou Macari
Tony Mowbray
Wee Louie was a bluffer – his football was the boring long ball style in England & Louie couldn’t work in a fit – which Fergus soon copped onto!!

He was brought in to build a team on the cheap by the then present board , it was only ever going to end one way .
Incidentally , he took the credit for that victory at Ibrox when he had virtually hee haw to do with it , all down to Frank Connor .— Highland__Paddy (@Highland__paddy) April 28, 2020
Lou’s heart was never in it,and McCann wasn’t having him being in Glasgow on a part time basis.

The animal wouldn’t even move up here and thought he could come up on a Friday and back on a Saturday night to Birmingham I think it was. Never spoke highly of Celtic since and was one of the gang who couldn’t wait to leave Celtic after a good season

Macari was appointed as Celtic manager in October 1993. But his stint at Parkhead didn’t last too long, as he left the club at the end of that campaign. He went on to have managerial spells at Stoke and Huddersfield Town (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
The fact that Macari was at Celtic for a very short period of time shows how unsuccessful his stint at Parkhead was.
As per CelticWiki, Macari ‘never seemed to settle fully’ at the club and that he was criticised for ‘not spending enough time’ at the ground. The same outlet also claims that Macari had ‘poor management skills’.
This shows that Macari was a rather underwhelming appointment. And it also proves the point of Celtic fans and why they weren’t happy with his time at the club.
