Some Celtic fans have been discussing an image of Tony Mowbray that was posted on social media recently.
Celtic fan St. Anthony recently posted about Mowbray on Twitter. The image had him looking angry on the touchline while sitting beside his staff. The post criticised the refereeing from the time when he managed at Parkhead.
Some Celtic fans fumed at this. Many of them slammed Mowbray himself and his abilities. Some were angry at the refereeing under his tenure.
He gave an interview fairly early on in his reign saying that he didn’t enjoy the job – writing was on the wall from then on. The St Mirren game was a total shambles & could’ve been more than 4. Players had chucked it

They media and officials smelt blood and knew Tony wouldn’t stand up to them, sadly he was not good enough to be a Celtic manager.

Was Mowbray good enough to manage Celtic?
Never
Yes, he just needed time
The game at Ibrox was a total farce, Robbie Keane was kicked about the place with no recourse. Shocker.

Yeah and he never complained once about it. I knew he was useless before a ball was kicked. Spending £4 million on a striker who had never scored any more than 10 goals in a season.

Maybe if he called it out instead of saying we’ll just have to take it on the chin it might have helped a little bit

True and he just sat there like a big lump of wood.
Remember a horrendous foul on Hinkel early in a derby and there was zero reaction.
You can’t always get it right when selecting the most important part of a football club. You are only as good as the manager.— Celtic Overalls (@CelticOveralls) April 26, 2020
Job to big for him simples

What do we think?
Mowbray was at Celtic as the club’s manager from July 2009 until March 2010 (via Transfermarkt).
As the manager at Parkhead, Mowbray couldn’t win a single trophy at the club (via Transfermarkt).
This shows why Celtic fans are frustrated at Mowbray and considering how he was sacked as the manager in a short time, perhaps he wasn’t good enough to be the Hoops boss.
