Some Celtic fans have been discussing the club’s latest links with a move to sign young defender Brandon Soppy.
Recently, Eurosport (via GetFootballNewsFrance) reported that the Hoops have made a €1.5m (£1.3m) offer plus bonuses for Rennes 18-year-old full-back Soppy. The report said that RB Leipzig are also interested in the youngster, but Rennes are trying to convince Soppy to stay and make him a part of the first team soon.
On reading this piece of information, many Celtic fans let their opinions known. Some of them are sure that Soppy will be a good signing for the Hoops.

Would you take Soppy at Celtic?
Of course, I will
no, we've got Frimpong
I’d take him but he would be the third choice right back ?

One fan feels that the club need to sign established players who can be a regular part of the first team and not ‘work in progress’ players.
No more work in progress get the quality players we need for 10 and get to the group stages of CL

Soppy is yet to make a single first-team appearance for Rennes, but he has made three UEFA Youth League appearances for the club’s Under-19s team (via Transfermarkt).
He’s a regular for France Under-18s, having made 11 appearances for their team (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
Celtic already have Jeremie Frimpong as a right-back option, while Hatem Abd Elhamed has also played there for the Hoops this season. Moritz Bauer has also played there, though his loan stint at the club ends at the conclusion of the season.
This shows that Celtic have enough options in the right-back position currently. Therefore, Soppy might not get regular football, which means it might not be a good move.
