Supporters of West Ham United have been left delighted with a report which has stated that the club will not furlough any of their staff.
According to Karren Brady, all full and part-time staff have been paid 100% of their wages and a report from football.london earlier in the week revealed that the club would continue to do so, which had fans delighted when it was shared to Twitter (via West Ham News).

Fair play to Gold and Sullivan on this.

Honestly this is the best thing Gold and Sullivan have done since buying the club ?. This is the first time in a long time that I am proud of our club ?

Do you now think less of the Premier League clubs which have placed some staff on furlough?Yes, it is hugely selfishNo, not too bothered |
The tweet from Brady came after five Premier League clubs have placed at least some of their staff on furlough, those being Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Bournemouth and Norwich City (per the Express).
The government’s scheme covers 80% of the wages, up to £2500 a month, of those who have been placed on furlough (via the Express) and fans were delighted to see the club sticking by their employees.
Genuinely good news. I’d have expected us to be first with the begging bowl.

Well done West Ham it would have been goodbye from me otherwise! We are a club with working class roots from shipbuilders on the dock in the richest league in the world, if we can afford to pay our workers we should ?

What do we think?
It is fair to say that the decision for Liverpool to furlough staff late last week has been met with a huge backlash (per Daily Mail) and in terms of financial gain, it will surely not be worth the damage to the club’s image (via Henry Winter).
However, it is great to see that West Ham are sticking by their staff and supporting them in an incredibly difficult time, which is being rightly respected by supporters.
