Fans of West Ham United have been left baffled by news which relates to the ‘past success’ David Moyes claims he has had.

According to @ExWHUemployee, the Scottish manager believes that he has built ‘past success’ on signing young players from lower divisions, which is what he would like to do with the Hammers (via @WHUFCFZ).

Since Moyes was appointed as West Ham manager again in December (per BBC), the former Manchester United gaffer has overseen three wins, two draws and seven defeats in 12 matches (per Transfermarkt).

Those results have given Moyes a record of 0.93 points per game, a figure which he only had worse while with Sunderland when the Scot recorded 0.72 points per match (per Transfermarkt).

What do we think?

It seems likely that Moyes’ success that is being alluded to is over the 11 years he spent as Everton manager, during which he oversaw 219 wins in 516 matches in charge (per Transfermarkt).

However, as can be judged from the responses from West Ham supporters, they are sceptical that the 56-year-old has ever had managerial success during his career.
