Aston Villa fans have flocked to Twitter to respond to the latest post from full-back Frederic Guilbert.
This comes after the Frenchman issued a response to a Villa Analytics on Twitter, in which the account asked their followers what they would say to Guilbert regarding his debut season at the club.
Guilbert claimed he would tell himself that “he can and must do better.”
The defender also added that he “has to work on his centre and pass quality in recovering the ball. As well as leaving less space between his central defender and him.”
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were keen to share their thoughts on Guilbert’s self-assessment.

So far in his debut season for the Birmingham-based club, Guilbert has made 27 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing two assists (per Transfermarkt). Now that he has come out and shared his own critical assessment of his performances for Villa so far this season, this opened the door for plenty of Villa fans to share their thoughts on the Frenchman’s progress at the club.

What do we think?
It’s good to see that Guilbert recognises his own performances for Villa and has been quite critical with himself. This shows that he has the determination and cares enough about the team to improve his game. The reaction from these Villa fans shows that they are big fans of the full-back and want him to stay at the club for the foreseeable future.
