Spurs fans have been reacting to a Twitter post which has revealed that Jan Vertonghen liked a tweet about Liverpool reversing their decision to furlough staff.
Daily Hotspur shared a screenshot of the Belgian defender’s ‘likes’ on Twitter, which included a tweet from BBC Sport regarding Liverpool’s decision to reverse their original stance on non-playing staff at the club. The North London club, meanwhile, look set to go ahead with their decision to hand non-playing staff a 20 percent wage cut, something which has earned the club criticism from the likes of Harry Redknapp and Gary Lineker.
It seems, therefore, that Vertonghen disagrees with the club’s decision to furlough staff, something which has gained him a lot of support from Spurs fans on Twitter.
Do you think Vertonghen was taking a shot at Daniel Levy?
Yes
No

If he is leaving in less than 3 months he’s got nothing to loose, good on him. If all the players speak out they might do something about it

These Spurs fans are clearly supportive of Vertonghen’s actions, with a couple of fans suggesting that since he is likely leaving in the summer, he may as well take a shot at Daniel Levy.
What do we think?
It is good to see that Vertonghen looks to agree that it was a poor decision by the club to furlough their staff and considering his contract is set to expire in June, it seems as if he is keen to make a positive contribution before most likely leaving the club this summer.
