Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the suggestion that Spurs are convinced they have a ‘potential world-beater’ on their hands in Ryan Sessegnon.
According to Football Insider (via Ricky Sacks), the club’s coaches feel that the 19-year-old can go on to do great things with the Lilywhites, with Mourinho planning on using the youngster further forward next season. The teenager arrived from Fulham in a £25 million deal last summer but has struggled to make much of an impact in his time at the North London club thus far; making just six appearances in the Premier League and averaging a disappointing 6.32 rating.
The England U’21 international’s only goal for the club came in a 3-1 defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, with Mourinho predominantly using him as a left-back or wing-back role in his few appearances so far.
Do you think Sessegnon could be a world beater for Spurs next season?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the report on Sessegnon can be seen in the tweets below.
Hasn’t really lived up to the early potential he showed at Fulham and hasn’t kicked on at Spurs so far

Clearly has potential? Have I missed something? He looks useless to me

People are too harsh on this guy. He’s young, had no preseason and is learning a new position. He was never going to be the finished product in his first season with us.

The next Gareth Bale??

I’m still excited about the guy. He’s so so young and clearly has a lot of potential.

Sessegnon is weak

Sessegnon certainly seems to have split the opinion of these Spurs fans in his first season at the club.
What do we think?
Sessegnon’s development was perhaps stalled due to the hamstring injury he suffered at the beginning of the season and perhaps with a full pre-season under his belt we will see a lot more from the £28.35 million-rated man next season.
