Fans of Everton have been reacting to the latest transfer report on the Toffees’ link with former Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho.
Following the report by Football Insider that suggested the Brazilian could be available for £80 million or on a season-long loan, the Daily Express picked up the story and stated that the Toffees and Barcelona ‘share a good relationship’, which had fans talking when shared to Twitter (via @TheGwladysSt).
Everton are interested in bringing Phillippe Coutinho to Goodison Park. Barcelona are looking for a buyer and have told the Blues that they value the midfielder at around £80m. It is likely Everton would offer the Brazilian a season-long loan. (Source: Daily Express)#EFC pic.twitter.com/mpyONkH6gg

@MMc1878 even though it would be a brilliant signing I can’t see it happening with him previously playing for Liverpool.

Do you believe there is any chance of Philippe Coutinho becoming an Everton player? No, there's not a chanceYes, anything is possible |
The Daily Express stated that the two clubs ‘share a good relationship’ due to the previous deals between the two for Gerard Deulofeu, Yerry Mina, Lucas Digne and Andre Gomes.
However, with Football Insider having initially touted the supposed fee at £80 million or a season-long loan, that had many either not seeing the deal taking place or the only chance being on loan.
Bring back Everloan! You love to see it

On €200k a week. Madness. Better spend the €10m elsewhere. Muernier or Mertens or both. Free agents on 30th June.

No way we are paying 80m for him. Or tbh anyone in the summer, unless ffp is scrapped or we sell big. I’d have him on loan like.

No chance of this happening. #papertalk

What do we think?
As can be seen in the responses, there are some Everton fans who believe this rumour to be paper talk alone, some who do not think that he is worth any potential outlay and others who think that a loan deal would work the best.
However, while the rumour received a mix of reactions, a 7.27/10 average rating in the Bundesliga this season (per WhoScored) would suggest that the attacker would be a key man for the Toffees.
