Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the rumour that Barcelona could propose a swap deal for Tanguy Ndombele this summer.

According to Sky Sports (via The Spurs Web), Barcelona have offered Spurs defensive duo Samuel Umtiti and Nelson Semedo for the French midfielder in a part-exchange deal. The 23-year-old joined the Lilywhites from Lyon in a club-record deal last summer but has struggled in his first season in the Premier League, averaging a disappointing 6.76 rating across 19 appearances in the top flight.

Where was Kane's first loan spell?

The French international has regularly struggled with fitness issues throughout the campaign, with Jose Mourinho heavily critical of the midfielder’s first-half performance against Burnley last month. The young midfielder is currently valued at £46.8 million by Transfermarkt, whilst Semedo and Umtiti are valued at a combined £57.6 million, suggesting that from a purely financial perspective, Spurs would be getting the better deal in this scenario.

Most of these Spurs fans seem to think that the club shouldn’t accept Barcelona’s reported offer for Ndombele.

What do we think?

Ndombele has struggled in his first season in the Premier League, but the club could regret selling him on soon if he goes on to become a regular for Barcelona, so perhaps the club should give him a full season with Jose Mourinho before deciding whether or not to sell him on.
