Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has been on social media encouraging the club’s supporters to vote for his strike against Huddersfield Town as the goal of the season so far in the EFL. The poll was put out by @QuestTV on Twitter and at the time of the 28-year-old’s post, he was trailing in second place – and asked fans to give him a helping hand.
The strike came during the Yorkshire derby which took place in March – the last game the Whites played prior to the season’s suspension due to the recent viral outbreak. That goal was Ayling’s fourth Championship goal of the season, having previously scored versus Birmingham City, Bristol City and Hull City (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
Here is what some of the Elland Road faithful had to say in response to his Tweet.

What do we think?
Ayling knew exactly what he was doing when he called the Leeds United fanbase into action and judging by the replies, they were all more than happy to help and turn the tide in their hero’s favour.
