Spurs fans have flocked to a tweet from Harry Kane, after the 26-year-old congratulated Captain Tom Moore for his fundraising efforts for the NHS.
The 99-year-old has now raised over £18 million for the NHS after completing 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday, and the England captain was quick to praise his efforts on Twitter. He wrote: “What an inspiration @captaintommoore is to the whole country! Incredible effort by an amazing man to raise money for our NHS workers who are doing heroic work.”
Before the season’s suspension, Kane was Spurs’ top scorer in all competitions, having hit 17 goals before his unfortunate hamstring injury in January. The academy graduate had looked close to a return, so hopefully, for Spurs fans, he will be back fit and firing by the time the Premier League does resume.
