Spurs fans have been discussing former player Adel Taarabt after some footage of the midfielder playing for the North London club emerged on Twitter.
The footage was originally shared by Diogo on Twitter, before being shared with Spurs fans via The Spurs Web and shows the Moroccan performing a wonderful piece of skill, with team-mate Anthony Gardner reacting in disbelief. The former QPR man featured just 15 times for Spurs after joining from RC Lens, before joining QPR – where he enjoyed arguably the best part of his career to date, contributing 34 goals and 42 assists in 164 appearances.
The 30-year-old is currently with Portuguese giants Benfica and has been solid in his performances in Liga NOS so far this season, averaging a 6.98 rating across 20 appearances in the top flight.
Was Taarabt given a proper chance at Spurs?

Played most of this season as a DM for Benfica. Amazing apparently!

Loved this bloke. Could’ve been sensational. First saw him at Stevenage in a friendly we had each pre-season. He ran the game at age 17 or 18.

Bad attitude was his issue

He may have had all the skills but he simply didn’t know how to play. Therefore, not a wasted talent imho

That’s his highlight reel…..just this! Way overrated

Him and Marcus Edwards I really thought were gonna be top draw, not that they were bad players but wanted it to work out better at Tottenham…

Most of these Spurs fans seem to agree that Taarabt certainly could’ve gone on to better things had he had a better attitude.
What do we think?
Although the piece of skill from Taarabt was sublime, the fact he made just 15 appearances for the North London club in his time there suggests that his attitude perhaps wasn’t the best, but it is good to see that he is doing well with Benfica now.
