Spurs fans have been reacting to some quotes from former manager Harry Redknapp with regards to the club’s decision to furlough its non-playing staff.
It was announced earlier this week that the north London club would be taking up the option to furlough 550 non-playing staff members at the club, taking advantage of the recent government scheme. The 73-year-old slammed the decision on ‘The ‘Arry Redknapp Podcast’ (via the Daily Mirror), saying: “Tottenham are owned by Joe Lewis, one of the richest men in the world and his club are cutting the wages of all their non-football staff by 20%. I can’t believe it.”
The former manager took charge of 199 games during his time as Spurs boss, but clearly didn’t hold back in his criticisms of those top of the hierarchy.
Do you agree with Redknapp?

I’ve always defended ENIC. The club has progressed under them and I guess I wanted to believe.
But this is just unforgivable.
I’m not sure I’ll go to another Spurs game while Joe Lewis owns the club.

Disgrace. Become more disengaged with the club as the week ya go by. This alone shows they have no interest in anything but £. They’ll never get close to where we were a few years back with these in charge.

I’m a season ticket holder and ashamed that my money isn’t going to the right people. Levy is so out of touch with the fan base it’s a shame.
This is another thing rival supporters have used to ridicule us and non football fans, it’s disgusting and I’m ashamed of the board

Absolutely disgraceful

These Spurs fans seem to agree with Redknapp’s quotes regarding Lewis and feel that it was a shameful thing for the club to do.
What do we think?
It really seems to have been a misjudged decision from the club to furlough their staff and it seems as if they will continue to get stick from the media and their supporters until they reverse their original decision.
