Rangers have posted an image of Ibrox Stadium from the 1970s via their Twitter account. The famous old stadium situated on the south side of the River Clyde has changed dramatically since then, and the club asked the fans to share their memories of the place during that period.
The Gers were crowned Scottish champions three times during that particular decade and here is how some of the Ibrox faithful have reacted to the historic photo.
Always a beautiful sight ???

Making sure you got your favourite spot – usually a barrier – by getting in early, especially when we played that other mob.

Would you like to see Ibrox extended further?
Yes
No
That was my stadium, first one I ever visited, the smell and contrasting colour of the grass, the floodlights, the fever on big Euro nights, picking your fav spot in the stadium, for a treat, the Centenary stand !. The crowd size!. Once visited, smitten forever!.

What do we think?
The Ibrox disaster of 1971 led to three of the four stands being rebuilt between 1978 and 1981, shaping the modern stadium. Currently, the ground has a capacity of 51,082 and the club had plans to extend it further – but were unable to do so after the global financial crisis and their administration.
Rangers currently sit second in the Scottish Premier League, 13 points off the top despite losing just four of their 29 games so far.
