Spurs fans have been discussing the latest report on Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana after it was suggested that the North London club see him as the ideal replacement for Hugo Lloris.
According to the Daily Mirror (via Daily Hotspur), Spurs could face competition from PSG, Barcelona and Chelsea in their attempts to sign the Cameroonian international this summer. The 24-year-old signed for Ajax from Barcelona’s academy back in 2015 and has gone on to make 178 appearances for the Eredivisie club in his five years there.
It is perhaps no surprise that Spurs are in the market for a replacement for Hugo Lloris, who, despite his impressive form in the Premier League this season, is now 33-years-old. The Frenchman’s performance in Spurs’ last competitive game against RB Leipzig in the Champions League was perhaps a sign that the World Cup-winner is no longer at his best.
Would Onana be a good signing for Spurs?

I really don’t see it. He isn’t physical or powerful enough for prem in my opinion. I think this would be a big mistake.

We’ve had too many dodgy keepers in the past. Need to go all out and do a Liverpool or City and spend big

I don’t like the look of this guy at all. Rather one of the other clubs get him before us if I’m honest

Rather keep Lloris. Onana would be more of a liability. Woeful handling and constantly parries balls back into open play.

These Spurs fans clearly aren’t too happy that Onana is being linked with a move to the Lilywhites this summer.
What do we think?
If the reports are true and Spurs do face competition from the likes of Barcelona and PSG, then it would perhaps be a surprise to see him join the North London club this summer, which might leave these Spurs fans happy.
