Spurs fans have been discussing the future of Harry Kane at the North London club.
According to the Daily Mail (via Daily Hotspur), the Lilywhites are confident of keeping hold of the England captain this summer as he has four years left on his contract, as well as a current valuation of £200 million. Spurs are currently languishing in eighth position in the Premier League and if top-flight football does resume this season, they face an uphill battle to try and secure a Champions League spot ahead of next year.
Therefore, next season, Jose Mourinho’s side could well be without European football, which could perhaps encourage a player of Kane’s quality to seek a move elsewhere. The 26-year-old has hit 17 goals in all competitions for Spurs so far this season, despite having spent the last three months sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Would you sell Harry Kane to fund a rebuild?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the news on Kane can be seen in the tweets below.
We shouldn’t be forcing people to stay cos they have a contract and high value, we should make him want to stay by investing in the squad around him and meeting his ambitions

Sell him. Use the money to rebuild the squad.

Let’s let Him go and bring in 2 or 3 quality players

I remember seeing the same thing about Eriksen and Alli at a time. I think as an athlete at the highest level it’s only a matter of time if your ambitions aren’t being met that you’d want to move on. Couldn’t blame him one bit if he did.

Levy should sell him and split the money with Joe Lewis!
— Michael Elsey (@MichaelElsey) April 1, 2020
Sell him for 200m+ and rebuild. Would rather have 4 new quality players, than 1 world class striker who misses 3 months every season.

If he wants to leave he’s entitled to. Being incredible for Tottenham, and deserves to win titles/medals. Doesn’t owe anyone anything least of all Levy !

These Spurs fans seem to think that now is the time to sell Kane and use the money from his sale to rebuild the squad.
What do we think?
It is difficult to see any club willing to spend £200 million on Kane, especially in the current climate, but if Spurs do sell him, they would perhaps need to ensure they bring in some real quality in order to properly replace him.
