In his latest article for Football. London, Alasdair Gold has discussed what he thinks Spurs’ defence could look like next season.

In his article, he mentions centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers, as a player who is unlikely to be with the Lilywhites for much longer. He suggests that: “Cameron Carter-Vickers is also likely to be sold after numerous loan spells in the Championship.” per Football.London.

How well can you remember these obscure Spurs players? - Who is this?

The 22-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at Stoke City in the Championship, before joining fellow strugglers Luton Town on loan in the January transfer window. The USA international has struggled to ever really break into the first-team at the North London club; having made just four appearances for the senior side.

Do you think Carter-Vickers will be sold this summer?

TIF Tactics:

Despite his eight caps for the USA national side, Carter-Vickers is yet to make his Premier League debut and with 21-year-old Japhet Tanganga having emerged as a first-team player this season, his chances of featuring regularly for Jose Mourinho’s side next season look to be slim at the moment. His performances in the Championship haven’t been the best this season; having averaged a 6.66 rating with Stoke and a slightly improved 6.85 rating with Luton, suggesting that he is perhaps not at the standard required to play in the Premier League.

With the 22-year-old currently valued at £2.25 million, you imagine that the North London club may well cash in on the academy graduate this summer, to give him the chance at regular football elsewhere. However, with Jan Vertonghen potentially leaving this summer when his contract is set to expire, perhaps Carter-Vickers will finally be given the opportunity to become a recognised first-team player with the Lilywhites.
