Spurs fans have been discussing Barcelona right-back Nelson Semedo after it was revealed that he has frozen contract discussions with the La Liga club.
According to Spanish news outlet Sport, the Portuguese international has concerns over his playing time at the club and is perhaps looking for a move away. The Lilywhites were regularly linked with the 26-year-old during the January transfer window and could perhaps be one club looking to take advantage of his apparent frustration with Barcelona.
So far this season, the former Benfica man has made 21 appearances in La Liga; averaging a solid, if uninspiring, 6.79 rating. His performances in the Champions League have been much more impressive, however, as he has averaged a 7.25 rating across five appearances in that competition.
Do you think Spurs should make a move for Semedo this summer?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the news on Semedo potentially wanting a move away from Barcelona can be seen in the tweets below.
Thus guy is atrocious I don’t want him near spurs. If you think Trippier and aurier are bad then you need to see semedo play.

He is worse than Aurier.

Other Spurs fans are more keen on the right-back, however.
He’d be my first choice right back to replace aurier he attack just as well but can defend better and jose would get best of him with Portuguese language connection, keep KWP as cover

These Spurs fans, therefore, seem split on whether Semedo would be a good signing or not.
What do we think?
Considering Serge Aurier has been Spurs’ third-best performer in the Premier League this season, it would perhaps be a surprise to see Spurs bring in another right-back in the summer. However, it seems as if Kyle Walker-Peters might well have played his last game for the club, so maybe Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen in that position by bringing in the £28.8 million-rated man this summer.
