Some Southampton fans have been lauding the latest tweet about Portsmouth that their former player Billy Sharp recently sent out.
Sharp was recently involved in a friendly Twitter spat with former Portsmouth player David Norris as he shared a clip of himself scoring in a South Coast derby in Southampton’s promotion-winning campaign in 2011/12. Sharp talked about how his contributions were crucial to sending the Saints to the Premier League that season, mocking Portsmouth in the process.
On reading this tweet, many Saints fans were left raving. They loved Sharp’s response.

Southampton signed Sharp from Doncaster Rovers in January 2012. The Saints were in the Championship back then, but Sharp enjoyed an impressive few months with the club, playing 15 league games and scoring nine goals, including four goals in the last three matches.
What do we think?
Sharp’s numbers for Southampton in the 2011/12 season show what an immediate impact he had. All this paints a picture of how efficient a player Sharp was for the club. The comments of the fans show that they surely still love him.
