Supporters of Newcastle United have been reacting to quotes from Hatice Cendiz, fiancé of the murdered dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which have emerged.
According to the Telegraph, Cendiz has claimed that Mohammed bin Salman is “strategically using international sports to repair his badly-damaged reputation” and that any PIF takeover of the Toon would “greatly stain” the Premier League’s reputation (via @NUFC360).

Getting a ominous vibe.

Think we need to resign ourselves to the fact this wont happen. To many people/organisations getting involved against it.

Will the takeover of Newcastle United go through? No, not going to happenYes, it will finally happen |
According to the report, the UN and CIA have directly implicated the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia in the killing of Khashoggi and Amnesty International wrote to the chief of the Premier League, Richard Masters, earlier this week to ask the league to veto the purchase of the club.
So, after the report was shared to Twitter (via @NUFC360), supporters of the St. James’ Park club continued airing their reactions.
This doesn’t look good at all to be honest, starting to get the same vibe as the last few times a takeover has fallen through. #NUFC

It’s all been fun but let’s be real it’s going to fall thru isn’t it

I don’t mind being the villains. Suppose you’ve got to be when that sort of money is around.

What do we think?
Frankly, it is quite concerning how blasé some supporters are to what it is a shocking news story just because of their desire to see a takeover go through.
While the whole picture may not be totally clear, surely supporters should not be so blinded by wanting a wealthy club that they can simply brush off the report (per The Telegraph).
