A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a tweet from the Chronicle’s Mark Douglas regarding a takeover update, after documents were released on Tuesday that suggest there has been some major progress in the potential takeover of the Toon.
Douglas claims there is ‘big money exchanging hands’, before later tweeting that this ‘blasts away any doubt this is a serious project‘.
The Evening Chronicle reporter also believes that the deal is now ‘moving to crunch stage‘ and that ‘everything [is] set up so next [the] few days/weeks [are] crucial.’
This update from Douglas has gone down well with these Newcastle fans who are excited.

Significant Companies House activity this morning indicates #nufc takeover closer than ever. Clarifying exact meaning but big money exchanging hands & all legal framework being set up.

What do we think?
This is a good explanation from Douglas as he seeks to clarify the situation, and it looks as though Mike Ashley is as close as ever to finally selling Newcastle United.
Amanda Staveley looks to be leading the way in this takeover, and these documents suggest that it is her company PCP that will be taking charge.
We will just have to wait and see what happens, but this is a significant update.
