A lot of Newcastle United fans have rushed to comment on a post from Mark Douglas, who has revealed an intriguing takeover update.
The Evening Chronicle reporter claims that the deal for Mike Ashley to sell Newcastle is ‘all done.’
Douglas states that the deal is now with the Premier League and is going through the owners and directors test, but that on both sides of the agreement, everything is sorted.
He sets a timescale of 2-4 weeks before confirmation and thinks that there should be a statement made.
Do you now think Mike Ashley will finally sell?
Yes
No
This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans, who are very excited.
Deal is now in owners and directors test stage with @premierleague lawyers. That is last significant hurdle.
So all done in terms of #nufc & Staveley side. 2-4 weeks before confirmation. Surely needs statement now.

What do we think?
Some significant developments emerged on Tuesday, including documents showing funds were to be transferred – as well as a tweet from Keith Downie which confirmed that the takeover was pretty much a done deal.
Jason Burt from the Daily Telegraph also believes that the owners and directors test could be well underway – so Toon fans might not have long to wait to see if Ashley has finally sold the club.
