A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from GallowgateShots showing a picture of Laurent Robert playing with a football in his old Toon shorts.
Robert was at Newcastle from 2001 to 2005 and scored 31 goals and provided ten assists in 175 appearances before he left the club and joined Portsmouth on loan and then went to Portugal to play for Benfica.
Robert was known for his devastating left foot and scored some superb goals in his time at St James’ Park, and judging by the responses to this post, he is still loved by many Toon fans.

What do we think?
It is good to see that 15 years after he left, Tyneside Robert still clearly has an affection for the Toon, and just by going off the responses, it seems that it is a mutual feeling.
The former French international was a popular player on Tyneside, and it is good to see so many positive comments for him.
