A lot of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to slam Richard Keys after Twitter user Lee Charnley’s Lost Soul asked the former Sky Sports presenter if he thinks Mike Ashley should pay his staff.
This is because last season, Keys claimed that then Toon boss Rafael Benitez should use his own money to pay for players instead of asking Ashley.
The tweet from Lee Charnley’s Lost Soul triggered a barrage of responses, and the best of those can be seen below.
Are you expecting Keys to respond?
Yes, he will answer the question
No, he will bottle it

Obviously everyone knows that should be Bruce’s job (if we follow the same logic) couldn’t possibly fault Mike Ashley now could we?

He’s crawled back under his stone just like Ferdinand and Wise. Their image can’t be affected by association atm. If you believe Bruce apparently he loves NUFC more than anyone/Rafa (cough) so he should be deferring wages to pay for the staff and the summer transfer budget.

You don’t seriously expect the owner to pay his employees do you, that’s a really radical approach ?

What do we think?
Newcastle have furloughed their non-playing staff and were the first team in the Premier League to do so, and according to Martin Hardy, they have no plans to reverse that decision.
Liverpool had intended to follow the Toon’s lead but changed their mind, and it is interesting to see that Keys, who has been a vocal supporter of Ashley in the past, has said nothing about this situation. (Nothing on his timeline)
It will be intriguing to see if Keys does say anything or if Ashley reverses his decision.
