A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope, in which he shares a link to his latest piece on the proposed takeover of the Toon.
In this article, Hope claims that Newcastle have taken head scout Steve Nickson off furlough leave. Nickson has allegedly been told to carry on working as if Steve Bruce is the boss.
As well as this, he claims that Newcastle’s players have been told to be ready to come back into training next week.
This news of Nickson coming off furlough leave, though, has confused these Newcastle fans.
Do you think Nickson coming back has any impact on the takeover?
Yes
No

Does this make any sense if takeover is as close as reported?

Bit worring to be honest, his the last person we want back considering the new regime wants to change things top to bottom!!!

Craig if this is true, I would say alarm bells should be ringing!

Iffy, Mike Ashley has asked him to go out and look at the next Joelinton for next season.. He’s here for life we have to deal with it… At least the takeover nonsense passed the last couple of weeks of lockdown over.

What do we think?
As Hope says in a tweet, it was a strange decision to furlough the scouting team anyway, so to bring Nickson back perhaps should not be seen as anything too weird.
The proposed takeover of the Toon is edging closer to completion, with George Caulkin claiming that the Premier League will accept the deal ‘very soon‘.
So, we will just have to wait and see what bringing Nickson back could mean with regard to this takeover.
