A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a tweet from NUFC 360 that relays information from the Evening Chronicle about Matty Longstaff.
The Chronicle claims that the Toon’s midfielder is donating some of his £850-per-week wages to the NHS, which has gone down well with these Toon fans, who are happy with Longstaff’s sacrifice.
Matty Longstaff contributed some of his £850 a week wages to the Premier League players’ NHS fund last week. #nufc [Chronicle]

What do we think?
The fact that Longstaff is happy to give away some of his wage despite earning much less than other Toon players could be seen as a testament to his character, and it is good to see that he was willing to make this sacrifice.
Are you impressed by this from Matty Longstaff?
Yes
No
However, if his present contract situation continues and nothing is sorted, he could leave Tyneside for just £400,000 in the summer.
Newcastle should really try and get the 20-year-old tied down to a new deal so he can build on his first 12 appearances for the club, but as it stands, nothing has changed, and he faces the prospect of leaving the club at the end of June.
