A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a tweet from NUFC 360, which has relayed a transfer story from the Daily Star.
They claim that Steve Bruce has set his sights on signing Aston Villa’s John McGinn should Bruce’s old club be relegated to the Championship.
The price that the report mentions is £30m, and this has got many Newcastle fans dreaming of the prospect of signing the Scottish international.
Would you be happy if Newcastle signed McGinn?
Yes, quality player
No, we could do better

Why are people so upset about this? He’s class.

That would be fantastic!!

Haven’t watched loads of him but he is meant to be quality! Man U are said to have been interested. Takeover or no takeover I wouldn’t dismiss him as a bad signing just because he doesn’t have an exotic name!

I’d be well happy with that. Cracking player. Anyone who says otherwise hasn’t watched him very much #nufc

What do we think?
McGinn was signed by Bruce in 2018 and played ten games for the former Manchester United defender before Bruce was sacked.
This season the 25-year-old has missed 16 games with an ankle injury, and in that time, Villa have won just four matches in all competitions – perhaps showing how important the Scot is.
He is currently Villa’s second-best performer in the league with an average rating of 7.26 and has scored three league goals and provided two assists.
If Dean Smith’s side were to be relegated then, we think Newcastle could do a lot worse than make a move for McGinn.
