A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a tweet from Craig Hope that includes a piece about Lee Charnley.
The Daily Mail reporter claims that once the proposed takeover of the Toon is completed, Charnley will leave after a short handover period – bringing an end to his 20-year association with the club.
This news has gone down well with these Newcastle fans who seem delighted to hear that Charnley will be leaving.
Would you be pleased to see Charnley go?
Yes, he is awful
No, deserves another chance

Steve McClaren was his choice, he kept faith with Steve McClaren, we were relegated that season, blokes absolutely hopeless.

Great news if true 100% needs to go. Club needs changing from top to bottom so that no Ashley mentality exists again

The best news of this entire saga. The most incompetent person associated with our club. Still don’t know what he does daily, and what he’s done to improve us in the time Ashley has been here.

What do we think?
The takeover of Newcastle United is two weeks into checks with the Premier League.
Despite concerns raised by Amnesty International and BeIN Sport, there is a confidence that the deal will go ahead with no red flags appearing so far.
It looks like as soon as this is done and the deal is confirmed, Charnley will be allowed to leave the Toon.
The 42-year-old has worked his way up through the club and was made managing director in 2013 but judging by the replies, he will not be missed by these Toon fans.
