What do we think?
While it is clear that many City fans still hold Kompany is very high regard, it is not hard to see why.
The 34-year-old scored 20 goals and provided 11 assists over his 360 appearances for City, helping the club to win four Premier League titles, four League Cups, two FA Cups and two Community Shields.
As such, it is quite apparent why so many City fans have sent their regards to their former player on his birthday.
