What do we think?
While it would appear that some City fans would like to see Kompany return to his former club, he is not mentioned in the article as a possible candidate.
However, other City fans have claimed that they would like to see Xabi Alonso become Guardiola’s number two, and according to Goal, this appointment would be much more likely than Kompany, with Alonso even reportedly visiting the Etihad Campus in 2018.
In any case, it would appear that City fans are eager to find out who will become City’s new assistant manager, and are full of their own suggestions for the role.
