Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which highlights footage of Premier League referee Kevin Friend discussing VAR.
In the footage, which was originally posted by TalkSPORT, Friend discusses how successful he believes VAR has been since its introduction to the Premier League, stating: “We’re in a positive place with it… There has been a few mistakes or perceived errors, it’s part and parcel.”
In reaction to the footage, which was relayed by City Chief on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that VAR has not been the success that Friend suggests.

What do we think?
While many City fans appear to feel that their team have been negatively affected by the use of VAR in the Premier League, stats published by ESPN would appear to show a different story.
According to the report, City’s net subjective score of VAR decisions is +1, meaning that City have benefitted from VAR decisions more often than they have gone against the club.
In any case, it would seem that City fans do not agree with Friend’s claims that VAR has been a success in the Premier League.
