Liverpool fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest comments from Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldWatch shared a post on their page relaying comments made by the Belgian in an interview with Het Laatste Nieuws via Sport Witness.
The midfielder claimed that the current Premier League season should be cancelled to avoid any resulting issues with the following campaign.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to have their say in response to De Bruyne’s comments.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:

He lose my respect and what he is talking about Is pure Hypocrisy,Why should he thinking about next season when this season is allmost done.
— Janadoon (@janadooon) April 2, 2020
Why care about a season that is no where near starting, rather than trying to finish a season that is nearly finished, some people are deluded.

Had massive respect and rated him so much even as an lfc fan! But he’s just gone down in my book . This season is surely priority as it’s 75% done .. next season can be fairly altered to appease everybody

Would you take Kevin De Bruyne at Liverpool?
Yes
No
The 28-year-old is currently valued at £135 million, making him the joint-second most valuable player in the Premier League alongside Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Harry Kane (per Transfermarkt). Now that the City man has come out and shared his opinion on what should happen to the remainder of the current Premier League season, this has not gone down well with these Liverpool fans who were not shy in airing their disagreements with De Bruyne.
Funny how selfish these guys are… if it were their team in our position on the table they’ll push for the remaining games be played behind closed doors… E pain them.

Imagine my shock.
— Ash Bowers (@Bowersa06) April 2, 2020
This guy is as salty and arrogant as he is a great footballer.

What do we think?
It’s easy to see why these Liverpool fans disagree with De Bruyne’s comments, if the league is cancelled then the Reds may not be awarded the Premier League title. But with Manchester City in the FA Cup and Champions League, their season would be disrupted just as much as Liverpool’s would be.
