Liverpool fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest reported transfer news concerning Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
This comes after football journalist David Maddock shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing that Sancho was “never an active target” for the Reds, who are “not involved in transfer discussions” with the Englishman.
Maddock also added that fellow Premier League clubs Manchester United and Chelsea are the two clubs who have “opened avenues for dialogue” with Dortmund over a transfer move for Sancho.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to share their reactions to this latest development.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:
Jadon Sancho NEVER an active target for #LFC, and no interest as things stand. They are not involved in transfer discussions over the England star – Manchester United and Chelsea are the two clubs who have opened avenues for dialogue with Dortmund. https://t.co/htj8oD6tqP

Signing a player of his calibre and potential for 10 years should have been our priority. Werner could easily turn around in 3/4 years and pull a suarez. Less chance with an english player who’s already played abroad.

Probably because of the outrageous price tag

Mistake letting him go to any other English club

Not worth £120m

Would you be happy for Liverpool to spend £100m+ on Sancho?
Yes, he's worth the money
No, too expensive
The 20-year-old joined the German club back in 2017 from Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Manchester City for a fee of £7.05 million (per Transfermarkt). After scoring 31 goals and providing 42 assists in 90 appearances for Dortmund, Sancho is currently valued at a huge £117 million, making him the most valuable player in the Bundesliga right now (per Transfermarkt). Now that it has been reported that Liverpool are currently not in the running to sign Sancho this summer, this has sparked a big reaction from Reds fans on Twitter.
Thanks for this, but think most sensible fans knew this unless we sell Mane or Salah the club will only shell out big when we have sold big alas Coutinho. Probably end up at Utd, but should go to #CFC they need an injection since Hazard left.

Oh would you look at the time, it’s Meltdown O’clock

There’s no logic in spending £120 million plus for someone who’s not going to start. It makes zero sense for the club right now

What do we think?
It appears that the prospect of missing out on Sancho has resulted in differing opinions from these Liverpool fans. His goals and assists record for Dortmund shows that he is a stupendous talent, but his huge market valuation could result in a hefty fee required in order to obtain his services, which has put some Reds fans off the idea.
