Liverpool fans on Twitter have been reflecting on Luis Alberto’s time as a Red.
This comes after Liverpool-focused Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page asking their followers which former Red – out of Alberto, Suso and Iago Aspas – they wish got more of a chance at the club.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans, who chose Alberto as the player they wish got more opportunities at Anfield.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:
Which of these three Spaniards, who all went on to be pretty successful elsewhere, would you most wish got more of a chance at Liverpool? pic.twitter.com/TQ8gYAHNjd

Luis Alberto, he never had a bad game for us yet never seemed to get a real chance

Luis Alberto, just seems like he never really settled especially based on his last interview

Luis Alberto, got the least chance to prove himself of the three

Did Luis Alberto get enough of a chance at Liverpool?
Yes, he just didn't deliver
No, he needed more of a chance
The 27-year-old, who is currently valued at £39.60 million by Transfermarkt, first signed to the Merseyside club back in 2013 from Sevilla for £7.2 million. Alberto made just 12 appearances for the Reds before leaving the club on a permanent basis to Lazio for just £3.6 million.
Now that the question has been put to these Liverpool fans on which of the three previously mentioned former Reds didn’t get enough of a chance at the club, this has given lots of fans the opportunity to reflect on Alberto.
Alberto definitely! Under Klopp he would have become something amazing

Luis Alberto. In the games he did play he showed a lot of potential and you only have to see how he’s doing for Lazio to see his quality.

Luis Alberto think if I’m not wrong maybe didn’t get as much of a chance compared to the others and plus would be very welcome now as we could do with a midfielder with his capabilities in cam role

What do we think?
It’s nice to see these Liverpool fans reflecting on Alberto and recognising that he didn’t get that much of a chance to make his mark on the club during his time at Anfield.
