Some Liverpool fans have been discussing whether or not they would like to see Mario Gotze sign for the club after it was announced he will be leaving Borussia Dortmund when his contract expires at the end of this season (via Daily Mail).
The 27-year-old, a World Cup winner with Germany in 2014, may always be remembered for scoring the goal that made his country the world champions in the Maracana.
However, this season, he has started in just 20% of Dortmund’s Bundesliga fixtures, making 13 appearances and scoring three goals (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). His average performance rating according to WhoScored.com in the German top flight currently stands at 6.49/10.
Here is what some of the Liverpool supporters have had to say regarding a potential move for the player.

No need of him now. We will find a better replacement in the midfield for Lallana #LFC #ANFIELD

Would you like to see Gotze at Liverpool?
Yes
No
Great player, scorer of only goal in a WC Final.. 27.. Squad player, but his injuries.. Is he a German Lallana ? Curtis Jones deserves a more time next season.

No. I’m hoping we can buy another B2B midfielder and also have Jones take Lallana’s spot.

What do we think?
It appears many of these fans aren’t keen on the idea of bringing Gotze to Anfield. Some believe it would be to the detriment of Curtis Jones’ development and that the 19-year-old should be given the opportunity to prove himself instead whereas others are concerned regarding the German’s injury record – and that is certainly a valid concern.
