Some Everton fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Toffees-focused Twitter account @TheGwladysSt which has shared that Everton are allegedly interested in signing James Rodriguez.

This tweet claims that ‘Everton are in advanced negotiations’ for the player who Ancelotti allegedly ‘wanted to sign when he was at Napoli’. This tweet has drawn a positive response from many Evertonians, with one Toffees supporter going so far as to claim that this ‘would be the biggest signing in (their) history’.

As claimed by @TheGwladysSt, these reports stating that the Toffees “are in advanced negotiations” for the player originally surfaced from Italian publication ‘Il Giornale’. ‘Areanapoli’ recently shared Il Giornale’s report via an article which also claims that Ancelotti views the playmaker as someone who can give ‘balance and unpredictability to his teams’.

Some Toffees supporters have been buzzing over these links between their club and James Rodriguez. Read the positive reactions of some Everton fans to these recent reports in the tweets below.

Do you think Everton have a chance of signing James Rodriguez?

YES, ANCELOTTI WILL LURE HIM TO GOODISON PARK

NO, HE WON'T COME TO EVERTON

What do we think?

As per ‘Football Italia’, Ancelotti revealed that he is “very attached” to Rodriguez when speaking with Italian broadcaster ‘TV Luna’ back in July 2019, describing the Colombian as “a great player”.

The feeling may be mutual if Italian journalist Nicolò Schira is to be believed. Schira recently posted a tweet claiming that Rodriguez ‘would be keen’ to reunite with Ancelotti, who has signed the playmaker on two previous occasions, first during his tenure as Real Madrid boss and again during his stint as Bayern Munich manager

It appears as though Ancelotti and Rodriguez have got some mutual respect for one another, considering that they are reportedly interested in working together again after previously linking up at both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. With that in mind, Everton may stand a good chance of luring the Colombian international to Goodison Park.
