Fans of Everton have been discussing Samuel Eto’o after the Toffees relayed quotes from the retired Cameroonian striker.
On Monday morning, the Toffees shared an interview with their former striker in which he explained that he was “disappointed to be at Everton for only a short period” and labeled the Toffees a “big club” (per Everton), which fans reacted to.
?? | “I was disappointed to be at Everton for only a short period. I immediately fell in love. When I came, I knew I was joining another big club, no doubt."
A brief spell in Blue, but the Toffees sure left an impression on @setoo9. ?

Do you wish that Samuel Eto'o saw out his two-year contract at Goodison Park?Yes, would have been classNo, he was past it sadly |
The 39-year-old arrived in Merseyside on a free transfer from Chelsea in the summer of 2014, however, his stay would be shortlived as he departed the Toffees for Sampdoria on a free transfer five months later (per Transfermarkt).
Eto’o made just 20 appearances for the Goodison Park club in total, in which he scored four and assisted two (per Transfermarkt), however, fans had conflicting feelings towards the forward.
Big fan of Sammy the Ets.

What do we think?
As can be judged from the responses of Everton supporters, it is clear to see that they are divided in their opinion of the former Cameroon striker.
However, whichever way fans think about the former frontman, it is clear to see that Eto’o has regrets over not being at Goodison Park for longer than he was (per Everton).
