Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been sharing their thoughts on former Villan Scott Sinclair and reflecting on his time at Villa Park.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @AVFCchats shared a post on their page quote-tweeting a post from the official Villa Twitter account that contained footage of Sinclair scoring against West Bromwich Albion back in 2015.
The page captioned their quoted tweet claiming that the club should not have sold Sinclair when they did.
This then led to a lot of Villa fans responding to the post with their thoughts on the matter.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans discussing Sinclair:
Am I the only one who loved Scott Sinclair? Never should of sold him #avfc https://t.co/mQo3r92fRI

Only seemed to show up half the time tbh. Thought he was a luxury we couldn’t afford to keep in our team. Not that the rest done any better the season after!

He was utter garbage, one of the least influential players I’ve seen

Did Villa make a mistake letting go of Scott Sinclair?
Yes, he should have stayed
No, he was right to leave
The winger joined the Birmingham club on a loan deal back in the 2015 January transfer window from Manchester City. Sinclair then signed to Villa on a permanent basis in the following summer transfer window for a fee of £3.15 million. A year later, Sinclair was sold to Scottish side Celtic for a fee of £3.69 million (per Transfermarkt).
During his time at Villa, Sinclair managed to score just nine goals in 45 appearances for the club (per Transfermarkt). Now that it has been suggested that Villa made a mistake in letting Sinclair leave the club when they did, this gathered a lot of reaction from these other Villa fans who did not agree with this opinion.
Thought he was bang average. Think a lot of people have rose tinted glasses if they remember otherwise

I thought he was poor to be honest

Personally think he was woeful, but we all have our opinions

What do we think?
It seems as though the majority of these Villa fans didn’t think Sinclair was a big miss for the club after he departed for Scotland.
