Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest reports surrounding a new addition to Villa’s backroom staff.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @astonforza shared a post on their page relaying news originally published in a report by the Birmingham Mail.
The report claims that Villa “look set to announce the highly-prized capture of West Bromwich Albion’s head of academy recruitment, Steve Hopcroft.”
This post then gathered a number of replies from Villa fans who were keen to have their say on this latest development.

The article also revealed that Hopcroft had been West Brom’s head of academy recruitment since 2006, scouting the likes of Louie Barry, Izzy Brown, Rekeem Harper, Saido Berahino, Kemar Roofe and Romaine Sawyers. Now that this news that Hopcroft is set to join Villa as their head of academy recruitment, this paved the way for numerous Villa fans to share their thoughts on the matter.

What do we think?
It’s good to see Villa making moves to improve their academy and focus on the players being brought into their academy. This shows that they are recognising how important the youth players at the club are or could become for the future.
