Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest reported news surrounding the club.
This comes after Villa-focused Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying news originally published by journalist John Percy in a report for The Telegraph.
The report claimed that Villa are in “constructive” talks with their players over potential wage reductions and will not be furloughing any of their staff.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were quick to share their immediate reactions to this latest development.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:

They should give up 90% of their wage for being so awful. #avfc

Say what you will about some performances on the field, there’s no doubting our class off it. Match day food donated to the homeless, help and facilities offered to lower League sides, there was no way this club would furlough it’s staff ??

Should the Villa players take a wage reduction?
Yes
No
With all professional football across the country currently suspended, some Premier League clubs have had to put their non-playing staff on the government’s furlough scheme that would see 80% of their wages paid by the government. Now that it has been reported that Aston Villa are in talks with their players about a potential wage reduction, as well as their reported intentions of not putting any staff on the job retention scheme, this news has delighted a lot of Villa fans.
My club ??

What do we think?
It’s good that the club doesn’t want to furlough any of their staff. Whatever the official decision is from the club, it’s good to know that these Villa fans will be behind them.
