West Brom midfielder Romaine Sawyers recently posted a tweet praising ex-West Brom centre-forward Nathan Ellington, which has got some Baggies supporters talking.

The Baggies’ official Twitter account recently posted a tweet asking their supporters to “pick one player past or present” to take a 90th-minute spot-kick when “the pressure is on”.

West Brom’s 28-year-old central midfielder Romaine Sawyers, who is valued at £3.6 million (as per Transfermarkt), responded to this tweet by sharing that ex-Baggies centre-forward Ellington would be his choice to convert the high-pressure penalty kick, via a tweet of his own.

Sawyers, who has himself converted twice from the penalty spot during his career, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, has attracted the attention of some West Brom fans with his recent tweet praising the penalty-taking quality of the ex-Baggies player.

Some West Brom fans have been responding in agreement with Sawyers’ recent tweet, stating that Ellington would also be their choice to step up for this high-pressure penalty kick. Read the responses of some West Brom fans to Sawyers’ recent post praising the former Baggies striker in the tweets below.

To kick off this quiz about the past week in the Championship, can you name which manager was announced as February's Championship Manager of the Month last week?

What do we think?

Ellington scored a total of 13 penalties in his career while impressively missing none, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk. Four of the former centre forward’s 13 successfully converted penalties were scored during his time at The Hawthorns

Considering his impressive success rate from the penalty spot throughout his career, it may be understandable why Sawyers, as well as some West Brom supporters, have identified him as the man they would want to be standing over a high-pressure 90th-minute penalty kick.
