Some West Brom fans have flocked to a recent tweet that was posted by Republic of Ireland international Callum Robinson, with many of the club’s supporters sharing praise for the 25-year-old attacker for scoring a goal in a game of FIFA versus a professional player of the game.

Robinson recently represented West Brom in a FIFA tournament that was originally organised by “League Two club Leyton Orient”, as recently stated by The Telegraph, who have also explained that the tournament was set up in order to “give the fans some entertainment, while also raising money for lower-league clubs at risk of going out of business” due to the current postponement of professional football in England which was announced by efl.com on the 13th of March

Despite being defeated by a “pro player”, according to the Baggies’ official Twitter account, some West Brom fans have been praising Robinson for scoring a goal versus Ajax’s professional FIFA player, in response to a post-match tweet which was recently sent out by the Baggies player. To kick off our EFL Championship records quiz, can you name which player has scored the highest number of goals in a single Championship season?

What do we think?

Considering that he was allegedly playing against a professional FIFA player in this contest, it may be understandable why some Baggies supporters have been sharing praise for Robinson’s efforts in this game on social media in response to his post-match tweet.

Robinson has earned an average overall rating of 7.20 according to WhoScored.com from his eight Championship appearances for the Baggies since joining the club on loan in January. This makes the Republic of Ireland international West Brom’s third highest-rated player for the 2019/20 Championship campaign according to WhoScored. Provided that he maintains his positive form on the pitch, it may be fair to say that Robinson may remain in the good graces of many Baggies supporters, despite his defeat in this FIFA tournament.
