Rangers: These fans react to Andy Halliday’s apology to fans

|

Rangers recorded their first back-to-back losses of the season after losing to Hamilton this week. It also extends the Gers’ inexplicably poor domestic form. The side have failed to win four of their last five domestic matches.

This has resulted in Andy Halliday discussing the side’s form during a press conference. He admitted that, while it won’t change the results, all he can do is apologise on behalf of the team to the fans.

Clips from Halliday’s interview were shared on Twitter by multiple sources. One of these sources was @PLZSoccer.

When Rangers fans saw the interview they responded negatively. This was not because of what Halliday was saying, but because it was him who was saying it. They don’t understand why a player who has barely played this season is facing the media. Halliday has only featured in six league games for the Gers this season and was an unnamed substitute during the side’s midweek loss.

Many supporters think this responsibility should fall upon players like Rangers’ captain James Tavernier, or Steven Gerrard’s most capped player this season in Connor Goldson.

Do you have more respect for Halliday after his interview?

Yes, it took courage.

Yes, it took courage.

No, he is just as bad.

What do we think?

At the end of the day, different players facing the media won’t take back the Gers’ recent poor results.

However, these fans want to see the squad’s senior players take accountability for these results, instead of sending out fringe players to answer for their mistakes.
