Yesterday, Rangers fans remembered Davie Cooper.
The player has been labelled as a ‘genius‘ for his footballing ability and is placed in the highest category of skill when discussing legends of Scottish football.
Cooper was, at one point, also labelled as ‘The Moody Blue‘ by the media for refusing to take part in interviews.
However, yesterday, Dutch legend Ruud Gullit didn’t shy away from the camera when speaking about the ex-Rangers player. Rangers’ official Twitter posted a short video of Gullit speaking about Cooper, claiming that the Scotsman was one of the best players he ever played against.
When fans watched this video they applauded the Dutchman’s words. They were happy to see that game respected game.
Superb words ??

A legend praising another legend. Can’t get more praise than that. Super Cooper was my favourite player of all time and I can still feel today how gutted I was 25 years ago. A legend and a gentleman.

Great praise from 1 of the GOATS but have to disagree he never had to go to Italy or England to be unbelievable. He was unbelievable right where he was. Taken from us far too soon. 1 of if not the most talented player to ever to pull on that beautiful blue jersey.

Should Rangers sign Gullit's son, Maxim?
Yes - we can have Hagi and Gullit!
No - that would just be silly.
What do we think?
The Rangers faithful aren’t surprised to hear how highly Gullit thought of Cooper. In fact, the 1987 Ballon d’Or winner included Cooper in his perfect eleven.
The legend played an astonishing 540 matches for the Famous before tragically passing away on March 22, 1995.
However, the player will never be forgotten at Ibrox. And, after seeing Gullit’s message, we don’t think the true legends of the game will forget him either.
